Music for the BassesIt's not a bass guitar, it's a bass.I've been a fan of The Cure since a dark angsty time when I was thirteen. One of my favorite songs has always been "Pictures of You" and I decided one day (fade back to 1990ish) that I wanted to learn how to play the guitar part. I went to see my big brother (a man knowledgeable of many strings) to teach me how to play it. He listened to the song and turning up his nose said, "That's a bass." Not knowing a bassist with good enough hygiene to warrant the close contact it takes to learn an instrument, I put off my ambitions to play the bass, yet remained an avid listener and aficionado for all the things at the bottom. Fast forward to the twenty-first century, I woke up one day after having my head up my ass for over ten years, looked around and said, "Feck it, I'm going to learn to play the bass." And I did.
Trent playing the bass and tsk tsk he's using a pick. Trent is playing an Ernie Ball MusicMan that most likely was the one that Danny Lohner was using on the Fragility Tour 2.0. At the end of the segment the care that Trent shows giving the bass to the guitar tech is touching , thus leading me to think that it belonged to Lohner. The picture is taken from the surprise Manson/Nine Inch Nails performance of "The Beautiful People" at Madison Square Garden, NYC (special feature on the And All That Could Have Been dvd).
